These are just as awesome as the small barrettes, which I also bought, just they are a little bigger. But unlike the smaller ones they holes in these to DO not all the way through, they are indentations, but not holes. You can easily drill them out through with a dremel if desired, as there is only a thin bit of plastic at the bottom, but just know this they are not out-of-the-box ready for sewing a decoration onto. I gave them 4 stars for this reason only, as it is inconvenient. However, for gluing decorations on they are great. They take hot melt and E6000 glue well, and the indented holes help hold the glue. They are a great value for the price!
